A new survey finds that millennial women are 37% more likely
than GenXers to be living below the federal poverty line and are far behind their male peers when it comes to financial success. According to the report: Clipped Wings: Closing the Wealth Gap for Millennial Women, the primary factors contributing to female wealth inequities are:
- Growing student loan debt
- Changing workforce dynamics
- The rise of mass incarceration and
- Coming of age during the Great Recession.
The report was produced by Asset Funders Network (ANF), in collaboration with the Insight Center for Community Economic Development.
