Our Trip to "Music City"

Every industry has ongoing training, and we take ours very seriously. On Saturday, October 26th, Matthew and I flew out to “Music City” to attend the 2019 ConnectEd conference. We attend this conference every year to ensure we stay current on industry regulations and practices, protecting client data and taking every measure to help our clients and their families achieve their future goals.

During the conference there were many different informative sessions we attended. Our first session was an incredible one focused on tools and strategies to help our clients navigate financial decisions through every stage of life. We went to an innovations and enhancements session that focused on what’s ground-breaking with our platforms, products and services. During one of the sessions we heard from Joe Coughlin, Forbes contributor and Director of the MIT Agelab. His work explores how global demographics, technology and changing behaviors are transforming business and society.

We didn’t realize until we got there that Peyton Manning was one of our Keynote Speakers. That was one of the high points of the conference for Matt.  Peyton talked about how he developed leadership in his role as quarterback and the importance of teamwork. And for those football fans, he explained Omaha to us!  It was truly fascinating.

One of the high points for me during this trip was when Matthew was awarded as the #1 Individual Advisor Under 40. Such a proud moment for me, not only as his Mother, but as his Business partner.

Now, our trip to Nashville was not just all work and no play. I mean how can we visit the home of country music, hot chicken, and Johnny Cash and not have fun?

On our last night we joined our partners and peers in Downtown Nashville to let loose and have fun. Charlie Daniels, Gretchen Wilson and Trace Adkins performed for us! We also had a free day to explore the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Science Center. Just walking up and down Lower Broadway is an experience of its own. The famous neon lights of the Broadway honky tonks have deservingly earned Nashville the nickname “NashVegas.” This strip of bars offers live music every day of the week, anytime of day. The talent that floods Nashville is beyond me.

Our ConnectEd conference was an awesome learning opportunity! We’re walking away with all kinds of great ideas to bring back. Best part was being able to talk and learn from our company experts, peers, and partners who play a big part in helping us reach your financial goals.
